It’s been a surprisingly good start to the season for Arsenal as, under Unai Emery, The Gunners have shown huge signs of improvement and are currently sixth in the table, eight points off Man City in first.
Emery has already improved Arsenal in multiple areas, especially in pressing off the ball. Defensively, Arsenal still need to improve but there are a lot of positives already under Emery.
The Gunners are currently are on a 16-game unbeaten run and although they haven’t won in their last three, it looks as though Arsenal will be a strong contender for the top four.
Following the Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil contract sagas last summer, Arsenal can ill afford to allow any players to allow their contracts to run down again. According to in the know Arsenal reporter, David Ornstein, the club have had initial discussions with Danny Welbeck over a new deal.
The Breakdown
While Danny Welbeck might not be an integral player in the squad, the England international has proved to be a valuable player for Emery off the bench.
The former Man U man has made eight appearances for Arsenal in the league and has also proven to be a valuable man in The Gunners’ Europa League campaign.
Unfortunately for Welbeck, he picked up a serious injury and will likely face a long layoff. Due to his ability to play anywhere across the front three and Arsenal’s lack of depth going forward, keeping Welbeck is a good idea.
Arsenal fans, what do you think?
