Police have reportedly ruled out 'drink and drugs' as potential causes for West Ham star Michail Antonio's car crash.

The Sun claim 'drink and drugs' weren't involved in Antonio's horror car crash that left the West Ham striker with a lower limb fracture. Police are also operating under the impression that a third party wasn't involved in the moments before Antonio's Ferrari FF struck a tree in Essex on Saturday.

Antonio was trapped in his car for nearly an hour before being airlifted to hospital. He's since undergone surgery and is expected to be out for at least a year, with a decision awaiting West Ham over his future at the club. Meanwhile, police are still trying to find out what led to the crash, with there being no suggestion of excessive speeding either.

“Drink and drugs have already been ruled out, and officers are not currently looking for anyone else," a source told .
“There is no smoking gun as far as cops are concerned right now – but they have to investigate because the smash was so serious and caused such extensive injuries.
“Just because cops are involved doesn’t mean a crime has been committed.”
