Leeds fans were furious with Marcelo Bielsa on Saturday when he left Jean-Kevin Augustin out of the matchday squad.
The decision did seem foolish, and it was made to look even worse at full-time as Patrick Bamford was out of sorts at Elland Road, failing to score with any of his seven shots.
Augustin would make his first appearance in a Leeds shirt a couple of days later for the U23s, and his performance seemed to justify Bielsa leaving him out at the weekend.

Indeed, Graham Smyth gave his verdict on the Frenchman’s performance for Carlos Corberan’s side.
What’s been said then?
The Yorkshire Evening Post journalist was speaking on the latest edition of the Inside Elland Road podcast.
“Jean-Kevin Augustin started, he played 45 minutes.
“We’ll talk about his performance first before we talk about the most Leeds thing to ever happen.
“He seemed to play on the shoulder a lot of the defender, he was looking for balls in behind, balls that never really came because Leeds don’t often go that way.
“We’ve seen Bamford played in a few times this season, but it’s not often a go-to tactic.”
Justifies Bielsa’s choice
Despite supporters being angry when Augustin was left out last Saturday, perhaps Bielsa got it right.
To be fair, fans should know better by now than to doubt the man once hailed as the greatest coach in the world.
Bielsa said that Augustin hasn’t quite adjusted to Leeds’ playstyle yet, and his performance for the U23s seems to back that up.
Attempting to play on the shoulder is something that strikers in Bielsa’s system don’t really need to do, and if Augustin had started for Leeds and attempted that, he wouldn’t have got very far.
Bamford is such a good fit for the Argentine due to his pressing and his link-up play, and it seems as though Augustin doesn’t quite get that yet.
In other news, it may be time for Leeds to drop one man who has started every game this term.
